I nearly died today. Not because of any freak accident but because of spiciness; spiciness that scorches your tongue, burns your throat, and singe your eyes. Yes, it was that bad. What am I talking about?
It’s none other than the famous hot buffalo wings at Sunset Grill & Pub(which btw if you or your friends don’t drive, don’t bother trying to go there). It’s located not-so-near Seletar Airbase, and is super ulu. The small handmade signs are placed stratigically along the way but can be rather easy to miss. Therefore, it is recommended you go before 7pm. Went there with NP band peeps, which outings never fail to make me fat, hahaha.
Anyway, back to the food. This place are rather well known for their buffalo wings, which have a level from 1-10, with increasingly spiciness. Great place for chili daredevils, or if you just want to sabo your friends. They also have this secret level 30, not that 10 is not bad enough, mind you. They used to have a super secret level 35, but I guess something must have happened to those who tried it (;
We started with half a dozen level 5. Hmm, ok… its like eating a mega mcspicy. Then we went on with another half a dozen level 10s. Erm, wow. Our throat and lips burned. Then the secret level 30, probably 3 times as bad as 10. This took a longer time to arrive, about 10 minutes. We suspected that they were taking their time brewing their evil and malicious sauce, hahaha. At last, they came. They were smoking hot and a pungent fume permeated the air, reminding me of burnt chocolate. The first bite was already a killer, seriously. Tongue was burning and the throat pain was unbearable. I think I drank like 2 cups of water for that first bite. We managed to finish the plate, though not escaping unscathed. My eyes felt like they got pepper spray-ed. On the bright side, our names got inducted into the hall of fame alongside the others who conquered this legendary level 30. We even got individual certificates with our names, lol.
Ok, we tried it once for the novelty, but I doubt we’ll be returning there again. It was an eye opening(literally) experience.
Stubbed my little toe on a baritone sax case during band. On another note, Three Revelations from the Lotus Sutra is a great piece. Alfred Reed’s Fifth Symphony ‘Sakura’… not so much. I’m so looking forward to Switzerland, but I heard we might be going to Sydney instead. Well, at least we still compete abroad.
In the midst of sleep, a sharp pain arised from nowhere. Oh, it’s just my stomach. It must be the stupid chocolate tissue prata from last night. So I got up and went to the toilet. Came out and stared at the clock… it’s 8.37am :o Went on to check my results(which they say will be released at 9am but always release at 6am). Woohoo, I managed to get a GPA of 3.1 this sem, but the culmulative was a disappointing 2.9. Don’t know why but this number annoys me, a lot.
I worked for the first time in my life, woah. Ok, my legs are killing me from standing for like 9 hours. On a brighter note, the commission is quite high. I think I earned like $50 worth of commissions today ^^y Going to bed soon to prepare for day 3. I’m dyingggggggg
I’m back on tumblr! As I predicted, tumblr has become the new blogger of sorts. Guess I shall follow suit.
I’m currently reading this book, Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, by Japanese Novelist Haruki Murakami. This writer is really good; I did a quick Google search and he apparently garners critical acclaim. My love for books has returned, by the fault of nothing but the holidays. I’m not exactly complaining, but I could really use a job right now.
Got a hair cut today at Plaza Singapura’s Chapter 2 today. Not a very nice experience, I must say. I prefer the other branch at Marina Square, but it’s kinda far. Went on to do some shopping in town, resulting in a very happy but very poor me, a Ransom X Adidas Pier and a Gregory Tailmate.
